School of Hospitality Management Professor Honored for Excellence in Meeting Planning Education
Dr. Glen Ramsborg will be recognized at Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Education Foundation Dinner Celebrating Professional Achievement
CHICAGO, October 12, 2010 – Glen C. Ramsborg, Ph.D., CMP, professor at Kendall College School of Hospitality Management, will be honored at the 2011 PCMA Education Foundation Dinner Celebrating Professional Achievement on April 27, 2011, in Washington, D.C. As the Educator Honoree, Ramsborg will be recognized for his accomplishments, leadership and commitment to the meeting planning industry and PCMA, as well as his impact on the field of meeting planning education.
PCMA is a leading source for education, professional resources and advocacy for the meeting, convention and exhibition industry. Representing more than 6000 meeting management professionals, the organization is headquartered in Chicago, and has 17 chapters throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

A veteran education professional with a 25-year career in meeting and event management, Ramsborg has been a professor at Kendall College School of Hospitality Management since 2009. Prior to his current role at Kendall, he was senior director of Education at PCMA.
Ramsborg has served as the executive editor of the fifth edition of PCMA’s Professional Meeting Management, recognized as the industry’s premier textbook, and developed the first and most comprehensive online program for industry professionals preparing for the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation. PCMA named him the “Educator of the Year” in 2003. Prior to joining PCMA, Ramsborg spent 17 years as director of programs and meeting services at the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. He received his Ph.D. in educational policy and administration from the University of Minnesota College of Education. A United States Air Force veteran, Ramsborg received several commendations before retiring with the rank of Colonel.
